Members, please come and share some holiday cheer with your fellow flygals. Bring a wrapped gift if you wish to participate in the gift exchange. Lisa E has a new idea for this year’s exchange. It should be a lot of fun. Suggested value of gift is $15.00 Let’s wrap up the year with a joyous evening.
Our members have been out in force fishing the last couple of months. Redsides, Rogue River half pounders, and rainbows have all been on the lines. We have had some wonderful outings so far this year with one more coming up. Take advantage of this great dry Fall weather and head to a river or stream. Tight Lines.
Three members went over to Trout Creek in search of the redsides. The hatch still was not happening on May 20th. We were about two-three days to soon. However, Adrienne did catch a lovely redside nymphing at 7:15pm. She caught a few smaller ones after that. Weather was great but Trout Creek was packed on the weekend.
Come hear Mia Sheppard and learn about spey casting and other steelhead tactics. We are excited to meet Mia and had her share her expertise on fly fishing.
This is our joint meeting with TVTU. David Hughes will be our speaker for the night sharing the art of Tenkara fishing.
Unfortunately, mother nature is not cooperating with our get togethers the past 2 months. Tonight’s meeting is cancelled. Our next meeting will be with TVTU at the Lucky Lab/Multnomah February 8.
Brian Marz will be sharing insights into winter steelheading. Come join us and celebrate this new year of fishing. Meeting starts at 7pm.
We will be having our holiday party at a restaurant on December 14. There will be no meeting at Orvis in December. The party will include our infamous white elephant exchange (stealing included of course). Also, we will have a fly exchange….bring a fly….go home with a different fly. This is a great way to wrap up a wonderful 2016 year of fly fishing. Members will receive the specifics via email.
Our next monthly meeting is August 10, 2016 at Orvis, Bridgeport Village at 7pm. Brian Marz will be speaking on Fishing Opportunities year round within 2 hours from Portland. It’s always a fun meeting. Women interested in fly fishing are always welcome as guests.
Our meeting in July will be at Cook Park with Tualatin Valley Trout Unlimited. This is always a fun event. TVTU also has a silent auction at this event and there are some very good fly fishing auction items.
